Labor Solutions has gained partnerships with multiple industrial manufacturing companies that need our assistance to help with hiring for their job opportunities. We are in search of a Cost Accountant to join their team.
The Cost Accountant role conducts studies provided to cost information not supplied by general accounting systems including building, running, and analyzing reports and providing suggestions to further increase the profitability and decreased risk for the organization especially in regard to inventory practices. Fully onsite Monday through Thursday.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine effects on costs including efficiency and rates
Analyzes, processes, and coordinates with Engineering Department on Prototypes, First Articles, and Engineering Change Notices
Assist with issue and changes to bills of materials in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
Analyses actual manufacturing costs and prepares reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Prepare detailed inventory analyses and aging reports identifying net realizable values.
Oversees physical inventory exercise and cycle counting program and results of each.
Prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control, and action based on the results of large volume data analysis
Monitor, analyze, and identify excess and obsolete inventories to see if it can be returned to vendors, sold, donated, or scrapped
Compiles cost information to be used in operating budget presentations
Makes estimates of new and proposed product or service costs
Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factoring affecting prices and profitability of products or services
Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly
Collaborates closely with Purchasing, Accounting, and Engineering
Assists Controller in budget development, planning and other financial requirements
Reconciles inventory sub-ledger to general ledger
Other corporate accounting duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
2 years of experience in Cost Accounting in an ERP environment
2 years of experience in processing large amounts of data in Microsoft Excel
Proficiency in reading and writing in English
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
5 years of experience in Cost Accounting in an ERP environment
1 year experience in Syteline ERP system
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
Demonstrated integrity and able to present findings and recommended solutions
Proven experience working and communicating effectively with all levels of employees
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals
Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
