Job Description
Benefits:
Do you enjoy working with people? Do you enjoy helping people solve problems by offering advice and consultation? Are you looking for a job that offers constant learning, skills growth and a career path? If so, we are looking for employees just like you in the ever-changing Sign Industry.
What this position requires:
A creative, unique, fun approach to consumer design.
Complete fluency in Adobe Illustrator. We rarely use other programs in the Adobe Creative Suite.
An understanding of color theory.
Speed. Most of our design projects require an hour or less of creative design time - some have to be done in as little as fifteen minutes. The majority of this position is output, production and some installation.
Decisiveness and confidence in graphic design. We dont have time to agonize over minutia. Quick turn-around is a must.
Organization. This position requires juggling design and output, simultaneously. Our rhythm is; Print - Proof - Production. The printer starts running at the start of the day. Design proofs are created while the printer is running. Once design proofs are sent to the customer for review, production of printed graphics starts.
Familiarity with and comfortable using small hand and power tools like; X-acto knives, matte knives, tape measures, tee-squares and triangles, straight-edges, electric drills, electric saws, electric sanders and grinders, bubble-levels, laser levels, hammers, screwdrivers, pop-riveters, Dremel tools, ladders, etc.
The ability to load 50lb. (+) rolls of vinyl in and out of the printers and laminators without assistance and without damaging the material or equipment.
Attention to detail and the ability to handle vague or incomplete information and seek clarification, as needed.
Punctuality. We are a small enterprise and our shop works as a team. The team only functions when all members are present.
Above all else - a self-starter - can do - get it done attitude.
Potential candidates MUST have an on-line portfolio containing samples of previous design work available for review. Candidates without a viewable portfolio of work will not be considered for this position.
Potential candidates must reside in the greater Austin, TX area. There is no relocation assistance offered for this position.
