Oliver Inc. is looking for a customer-oriented and dedicated Prepress Technician who will be responsible for preparing customers files using desktop publishing programs and equipment. The ideal candidate will be also in charge of transmitting graphics files to outside service vendors for production of required stamping dies, embossing dies or any other outside service required. The Prepress Technician will use PC desktop computer systems and software, Illustrator, Photoshop, Automation Engine and Imaging Engine Rips, color proofing devices, plate output devices, densitometers and bar code scanners processing in a manner that meets specifications or exceeds customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain layout and follow instructions on work order.
• RIP processed files for proofing and final file format for imposition.
• Plot files to digital proofing device. Inspect finished proofs for accuracy and expedite proofs to proofreading.
• Plot files to plate for use in production
• Send finished form to RIP for plates.

Qualifications

• A complete understanding of print & packaging techniques and methods.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of job-related experience.
• Advanced use of is Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Well versed with Adobe applications. Experience with Heidelberg workflow a plus.
• Experience with Epson proofers and G7 methodology a plus.
• Team Player with ability to multi-task with deadlines while still meeting standards.
• Demonstrate high ethical standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
• Trouble shooting mind set.
• Attention to detail and excellent close vision.

• Ability to stand for long period of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
