Job Summary:

You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the beverage program. This role requires strong leadership skills, exceptional knowledge of mixology and beverages, and a keen understanding of the upscale dining experience. The Beverage Director will collaborate with the culinary team to create a harmonious pairing of food and beverage offerings.

Pay: $80000 - $90000 / year

plus bonus

Responsibilities:

Beverage Program Management:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive beverage program, including spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
    • Curate a diverse and high-quality beverage selection that complements the upscale dining experience.
    • Maintain and update the beverage menu regularly, considering market trends, guests' preferences, and seasonal offerings.
    • Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and organizing beverage supplies.
    • Ensure accurate and efficient cost control measures are in place to optimize profitability.

Staff Training and Development:

      • Train and educate the staff on beverage knowledge, service techniques, and proper pouring and presentation.
      • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge, upselling skills, and adherence to service standards.
      • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development among the beverage team.

    Vendor Relationships:

      • Establish and maintain relationships with beverage suppliers and distributors.
      • Negotiate favorable pricing, promotional deals, and exclusive offerings.
      • Stay updated on industry trends, new product releases, and emerging brands.

    Quality Control and Guest Satisfaction:

      • Ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional beverage service and quality.
      • Monitor guest feedback and reviews related to the beverage program, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
      • Collaborate with the culinary team to create harmonious food and beverage pairings that enhance the overall guest experience.

    Compliance and Safety:

      • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements related to beverage service.
      • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for responsible alcohol service.
      • Ensure the proper storage, handling, and disposal of beverage products in accordance with safety and health guidelines.

    Qualifications:

    • Extensive experience in managing beverage programs in upscale dining establishments.
    • Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, including current trends and industry best practices.
    • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to train and mentor staff effectively.
    • Proficient in inventory management and cost control techniques.
    • Understanding of local regulations and compliance related to beverage service.
    • Passion for providing excellent guest experiences.
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.


    Experience:
    •Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage service procedures, strong background in hospitality in a full-service, upscale high-volume restaurant environment.
    •3 years' related experience as an AGM, Beverage Manager, or similar role in an upscale, high-volume restaurant/bar/lounge environment

    Physical Demands:
    •Physical demands include light work, prolonged walking and/or standing along with the occasional exertion of up to 30lbs. of force.
