Since 1972, Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided evidence-based, culturally appropriate and compassionate behavioral health treatment, programs and services for children, youth, and families with substance use and mental health disorders. We are on the frontlines:

We are hiring for an Adult Mental Health Clinician who will be located at our Seattle branch with opportunities for some work from home. The pay range for this position is $30,500 - $60,000/annually DOE.

Requirements:

  • Provides individual, group counseling, representative payee, community support (aka case management) and mental health services to children, adolescents, and families enrolled in programs at THS and/or its affiliates. Performs intake interviews/assessments and collects and processes psycho-social data from participants, families, peers and others as appropriate.
  • Ensures prompt, accurate clinical documentation including treatment plans, progress notations in assigned participant files; preparation of treatment contracts, letters, referrals, discharge summaries of terminated participants. Maintain the caseload of active clients assigned to meet productivity requirements.
  • Performs work according to established THS policies and procedures. Performs clinical work in an efficient and competent manner and works to achieve THS productivity and quality standards. Schedules, coordinates, and manages services to assigned participants. Provides advocacy, support services, information and referral, and wrap-around services in an out-patient setting. Advocates and facilitates the delivery of medical/Psychiatric, housing, employment, and educational services.
  • Knowledgeable of the mental health recovery model and integrates recovery principles into clinical practice. Maintains all program files in a professional and efficient manner according to procedures outlined in the THS clinical manuals and in accordance with WAC (Washington Administrative Code).

Develops, maintains, implements crisis and treatment plans with participant’s input with a focus on building upon strengths.
  • Participates in staff meetings, consultations, enrollee presentations, and training programs. Follows through on staffing recommendations for participants. Consults with psychiatric providers, ARNP, or chemical dependency and other professionals as needed. Assists in resolving participant’s issues, as they relate to staffing decisions. Participates in consultations and presentations as needed.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of mental health treatment facilities and their treatment modalities in King County and throughout Washington State. Able to work with all socio-economic groups and all ethnic minorities. Must be able to maintain confidences and handle highly confidential materials.
  • Maintains a professional image within the community at all times. Places professional ethics and integrity before personalities of participant, co-workers or the professional community. Serves on THS committees as assigned. Supports and participates in Drop-in-Center activities and related community support services as needed. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling or related field is required.
  • Possesses experience in working with multi-ethnic populations in outreach, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution skills. Experience in addressing issues of sexual assault, domestic violence, and chemical dependency.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other service systems and community members.
  • Knowledge of community resources and referral/follow-up processes.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • A current Washington State Counselor credential or current professional licensure is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mental Health Professional credential
  • Minority Mental Health Specialist experience
