Job Description

$2,500 Sign-On Bonus!

SUMMARY

The Electrical Assembler is responsible for performing cable assembly operations to build high-quality coax cables and wire harness products for the aerospace industry.

1st Shift: 6:00am-2:00pm (Two paid 10 minute breaks and one paid 20 minute lunch)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Builds simple point-to-point cables following drawings and instructions to a high level of quality and productivity.
  • Identifies wires with use of basic color code sequence.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork relating to the building of assemblies.
  • Maintains clean, organized work environment and adheres to all factory safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.
  • Participate in first production runs of new products.
  • Able to perform back shell installation, crimp, strip, jacket removal, connector loading, lace-tie, solder (to required customer specification), solder sleeves, install various types of heat shrink, tubing, and woven braid.
  • Utilize hand tools and automated machines and components in conjunction with customer drawings, parts list, bill of materials, wire diagrams, schematics, tables, and work instructions.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and the company

JOB SKILLS

  • Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, read blueprints, drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to measure accurately using a ruler or tape measure.
  • Basic math adding and subtracting decimal and fractional expressions.
  • Ability to build cables and wire harnesses using manufacturing instructions, while meeting all workmanship standards.
  • Writing skills required to complete documents and forms.
  • Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment. Participate in 5S related performance teams.
  • Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED and one+ (1) years of experience in related field.
