CNC Programmer

OVERVIEW

This is a salary position where the employee is responsible for programming and operating the CNC Lathe machine for bar processing. Employee is responsible for other general labor duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma/GED Required
• Two plus years of experience

QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess history of precision measurement/ gauging skills, geometric dimensioning and statistical process control
• Must be proficient in CAD
• Possess Strong math skills including knowledge of fractions and decimals
• Possess dependability to be consistently at work and on time with the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include all shifts
• Possess a “Team” mentality with ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Possess ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates CAD/CAM databases, CAD models and CAM process models
• Creates CNC programs for multitasking machines and mill-turn machines tools and provides some technical support to manufacturing personnel
• Perform daily inspection of equipment and work area to check for safety hazards.
• Translate drawing specifications into measurements for production.
• Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for equipment.
• Operate equipment following standard operating procedures.
• Perform quality checks.
• Follow all company safety protocols.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by senior management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work performance is conducted in a manufacturing plant that contains heavy production machinery and job-specific equipment and tools.
• Safety training, written procedures, and continual improvement measures are implemented to eliminate or control any physical/environmental hazards that may be present in the work place.
• Employee use of personal protective equipment is enforced for all phases of job performance to prevent bodily injury.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Job performance demands constant application of the following physical requirements: use of hands, manual dexterity.
• Job performance demands frequent application of the following physical requirements: lifting (up to 65 lbs.), standing, fine manipulation, close visual acuity, near vision, spatial/form/depth perception, multiple limb coordination.
• Job performance demands occasional application of the following physical requirements: carrying, reaching, overhead reaching/lifting, bending, pushing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, climbing, balancing, driving, near/far vision, upper limb coordination.
