Requirements:JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:
The ideal Medical Assistant/ LPN clinical coordinator candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multitask. This MA/LPN is responsible for biologic coordination, surgical scheduling, pathology result communication and scheduling, clinical voice mails, follow up and care coordination tasks, and clinical on floor support to cover as needed.
Essential Functions:
· Care coordination, prior authorization, and patient assistance for biologics
· Tracking and follow up of all biologic patients
· Pathology log completion including calling results
· Surgical scheduling
· Follow-up with surgical patients per the providers orders
· Referral coordination and follow-ups
· Communication with external providers
· Reviewing clinical voice mails, communicates with and obtains orders from the provider and calls the patient with instructions
· Documents all activities in the EHR following the best practices of the clinic
· Obtaining appropriate consents/signatures on compliance or orders documents
· Assists on the clinical floor with general dermatology, surgical dermatology, and/or cosmetic dermatology to cover vacations, staff call offs, or staffing shortages.
· Other duties as assigned
Medical Assistant/ LPN Skills and Qualities:
· Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers
· Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider's instructions, and know when to seek information or advice
· Proficient communication skills (written and verbal)
· Flexible hours
· Ability to travel between two locations
Work Environment:
This role operates in a healthcare setting and requires regular walking to various locations around the practice. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods during office hours. This role may be required to lift, reach, bend/crouch, see, hear, and speak.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Core Business Days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Education and Experience:
· Preferred Medical Assistant (MA) Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) License, or LPN
· Preferred Hands-on experience in a clinical setting. Will train the right candidate
· Dermatology or surgical experience is preferred, not required
