Job Summary
This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with excellent opportunity for growth. The Materials Controller I supports a variety of functions within the Supply Chain, with primary focus on the inventory management needs of the company. Interacting with all levels of the organization, self-starters with high energy, attention to detail, proficiency in material control and warehousing, along with related systems transaction capabilities will excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintains safety at all times
• Unloading and receipt of shipments using various material handling equipment
• Transfers and put away of inventory to assigned locations
• Kitting of components for manufacturing work orders
• Replenishment of inventory at the point of use on the manufacturing floor, (aka Water Spider).
• Routine cycle counting and participation in periodic physical inventories
• Picking , Packing, and Shipment of customer sales orders
• Processing of customer and supplier returns
• Movement of materials throughout the facility
• Maintains inventory stores to ensure compliance with 6’s standards
• Works in a safe and efficient manner
• Performs other duties as assigned
Additional Skills and Attributes
• Independent worker who can assess needs and determine priorities
• High level of attention to detail while operating in multi-tasking environment
• Ability to lift packages weighing up 35 pounds
• Effective verbal and written communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing concepts. In particular, demand flow technology, pull management systems and inventory location systems
• Intermediate skill level in MS Office applications, (word, excel, outlook).
Experience and Qualifications
• Associates degree or minimum 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to utilize a variety of material handling equipment, including, sit down fork lift, stand up high reach, cherry picker, manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, hand truck

The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low, and must have the ability to regularly lift and/or maneuver up to 50 pounds. Employee is also frequently required to operate a forklift and manual and electric material handling pallet jacks in order to move products and pallets in a safe manner, training and certification to use necessary equipment is provided. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employee must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
