Mental Health Therapist

Our healthcare team offers an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their mental health. We are looking for a therapist with a friendly demeanor and strong analytical abilities. As a behavioral therapist, you will be responsible for delivering all therapist services such as completing assessments, guiding groups, treatment and discharge planning, and patient care documentation.

1. Assessment and Treatment Planning: Therapists assess clients mental health needs,

develop treatment plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure

comprehensive care.

2. Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage crises that may arise during therapy

sessions or in the community, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.

3. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including progress

notes, treatment plans, and any other required documentation.

4. Collaboration: Work closely with other mental health professionals, such as

psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and case managers, to coordinate care and

provide a holistic approach to treatment.

5. Education and Support: Educate clients about mental health, coping mechanisms, and

strategies for maintaining mental well-being. Offer support and encouragement.

Qualifications:

1. Education: A degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is

required.

2. Licensing: Must be licensed or in pursuing clinical supervised hours as a mental health professional in UT (Licensed

Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LMHC).

3. Experience: Previous experience in mental health counseling, especially in an intensive

outpatient setting is preferred.

4. Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.

The ability to work effectively with diverse populations is also important.

5. Empathy and Compassion: Given the nature of the work, a high level of empathy and

compassion is crucial to connect with clients and provide effective therapeutic support.

Job Type: Full-time – M-F 9-6
