Job Description
Salary:

Summary/Objective:
Join our dedicated team as an Optometric Technician to enhance patient care through meticulous support and clinical excellence. This role is pivotal in facilitating a smooth patient care process alongside our doctors and staff. Precision, attention to detail, and clinical proficiency are essential, encompassing data collection for visual health assessments, chairside assistance, and effective patient record management.


Essential Functions:

  1. Prepare exam rooms, ensuring equipment and instruments are calibrated and ready.
  2. Perform preliminary diagnostic tests such as visual fields, auto refraction, corneal topography, non-contact tonometry, retinal photography, and scanning.
  3. Manage patient intake, history taking, and conduct basic visual acuity and color vision testing.
  4. Identify and report any abnormal findings during pre-testing to the doctor.
  5. Accurately input clinical data into the electronic medical record system in real-time.
  6. Ensure compliance with clinical care standards and completion of special testing.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pre-testing area and examination rooms.
  8. Order supplies timely to avoid shortages.
  9. Take on additional tasks as required to support patient care and office operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records systems.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant, or Certified Optometric Assistant credentials preferred.


Work Environment:
The role is situated in a clinical setting within a professional office environment, using both ophthalmic and standard office equipment.


Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
