Remote Reading/Language Arts Teacher (Grades 6-8)

Excelsior Online Education is searching for passionate Reading/Language Arts Teachers to empower students through engaging and effective online instruction. This role is focused on directly impacting student success during classroom intervention period, while fostering a supportive virtual learning environment. Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required.
Valid state (California preferred, but not required) Teaching Credential in designated subject area required (Reading/Language Arts)
Minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience required.
Experience teaching remotely required.
*Must live in the United States and be available Wednesday from 1:00pm to 7:00pm (PST) for virtual push-in support or Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday between 4:00pm-7:00pm (PST) for scheduled after-school support (availability during BOTH times is ideal!)
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct engaging one-on-one and small group (up to 4) virtual instructional sessions via EOE's online portal.
- Connect with students during scheduled classroom intervention periods, supporting classroom teachers' objectives and students' individual learning plans.
- Engage in ongoing assessment of student progress using a variety of means, maintaining accurate records, and using assessment data to tailor instruction to individual student needs.
- Utilize student data provided by schools to create instructional plans for each student's individual needs.
- Develop lessons that incorporate multiple intelligences and prepare students for success that align with district and school objectives.
- Communicate with site teachers by sharing progress of students, observing students, and developing strategies to maximize growth and success.
- Attend monthly virtual collaboration with classroom teachers to ensure alignment and maximize student success.
- Connect with students after-school for scheduled homework support.
