Quality Control Inspector 2nd Shift

JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector is responsible for visually inspecting incoming materials against color standards. This role will verify that materials are free of defects; completes quality reports and identifies and segregates non-conforming materials. Please note: This is a 3-6 month contract assignment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Interprets basic component drawings.
- Performs some dimensional inspection of incoming product according to drawings and inspection plans.
- Cosmetic inspection performed during the PVD, ATP or Wilshire plating process.
- Completes quality inspection reports including non-conforming material reports.
- Notifies the production supervisor of quality issues and non-conformances.
- Identifies and segregates non-conforming material.
- Performs housekeeping activities in the production area.
- Adheres to and promotes all company safety rules and requirements.
- Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Educations and/or Experience
- High School Diploma not required
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Some knowledge of measurements and precision measuring tools.
- Ability to be trained and use an Electric / Pallet Jack.
Language Skills
- English (reading, writing, verbal)
Mathematical Skills
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply)
Other Skills
- Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holiday hours.
- Ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status.
- Ability to pass a near distance vision and color test upon hire and every year thereafter.
- Natural or corrected near distance acuity in at least one eye capable of reading the Jaeger #1 Test Chart or equivalent at a distance of 12 inches or greater.
- Ability to differentiate among colors used in the visual inspection color palette and pass the Ishihara plates test without any signs of Monochromacy, Dichromacy, or Anomalous Trichromacy.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer or telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. Must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds. Have ability to complete frequent lifting, standing and walking up to 8 hours. May frequently use ladders, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a warehouse environment, and have frequent standing and walking. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate. The employee will be working near or around machinery
