Dental Assistant (DA or RDA)

daily duties and responsibilities

• Preparing treatment room with sterilized instruments properly set up to complete the appointment scheduled.
• Preparing patient by welcoming, comforting and seating patient.
• Providing information to patients and parents in regards to treatment recommendations, hygiene care, proper appliance instructions and elastic instructions.
• Protecting patients and Employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Providing materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments, appliances and brackets
• Providing instrumentation for specific orthodontic procedures to Doctor; suctioning, passing instruments
• Correctly reviewing treatment card notes for proper room set up
• Completing treatment card entries for todays visit
• Adding next visit treatment card entry
• Correctly moving patient in Dolphin GPS; waiting, seated, ready for doctor, doctor treating, assistant finishing, ready for check out, completed
• Correctly updating patient status and status start date
• Professionally Communicate with teammates, front office staff and Doctor in regards to patient, treatment, scheduling, appointment info, referrals etc.
• Complete Open and Closing Protocol
• Orthodontic Procedures
• Wire Change/Adjustment/Detail
• Untie, Retie, Power Chain, Steele Tie, Lace, Cinch, Power Thread
• Properly Mix Bonding and banding agents and assist in procedure
• Fit Orthodontic Bands
• Place and Remove Separators
• Place cheek retractors for bonding appointments

oClean treatments rooms

oProtecting patients and Employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

oSet up rooms with correct protective barriers

oPour up study models

oTrim study models

oProperly document treatment card and complete Xray and Records appts

oCommunicate with clinical director and Ortho manager

oReview schedule for needed xrays on patients

oBe available to take records and xrays when needed

Compensation is based upon interview and experience

Part time (1-2 days/week) available for Orthodontic assistant.

Full Time position (4-5 days/week) available for assistant for dual function Orthodontics and Pediatrics.
