CAD Drafter/Designer

Michigan engineering firm specializing in athletic and recreational facilities projects is hiring a CAD Drafter/Designer for their office in the Detroit area! This position is ideal for a candidate willing to learn, grow, and enhance professional skills.

Responsibilities:

• Provide site analysis, conceptual design, production of construction documents, and project presentation graphics
  
• Project design from conceptual design through construction
  
• Prepare project document plans/reports
  
• As part of the design team work on planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical aspects of projects
  
• Resolve technical project issues
  
• Communicate with clients and team members
  
• Review/respond to RFIs and submittals
  
• Present/explain designs and make changes to meet client’s goals
  
• Perform other duties as needed
  

Requirements:

• Associates in Applied Science Degree or equivalent in CAD, civil technology, civil engineering, building construction technology, or construction management
  
• 5+ years of landscape related experience
  
• Technical understanding of landscape architecture/civil engineering site development preferred
  
• Extensive knowledge of all areas of design/design methods
  
• Experience with schematic design, design development and construction documents
  
• Technical knowledge to identify issues and resolve them
  
• General knowledge/interpretation of code compliance requirements/industry standards
  
• Proficient in relevant drafting/design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat)
  

Salary is commensurate with experience.
