The Acoustics Department at AKRF is seeking an Acoustical Consultant to be based out of New York City, NY or Mt. Laurel, NJ or Philadelphia, PA office. This individual will work with the department to provide acoustical design and analysis on a broad range of public and private development projects. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of the region.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to and reviewing modeling (Treble, EASE, TNM, FTA, CadnaA, AIM, etc.)
  • Conducting HVAC and mechanical ductwork noise calculations, vibration isolation recommendations, engineering calculations
  • Reviewing architectural/mechanical/structural drawings
  • Assisting with HVAC and mechanical ductwork noise calculations, vibration isolation recommendations, engineering calculations
  • Contributing to practical design solutions and client deliverables for a wide variety of transportation, development and infrastructure projects (e.g., Environmental Impact Statements)
  • Day-to-day project communication and coordination with clients and other design consultants.

Essential Requirements:

  • 2-5 years’ experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in acoustical, physics, mechanical, electrical or architectural engineering
  • Preferred experience with CAD and the CEQR Technical Manual/Noise (E) designations
  • Preferred experience with architectural acoustics and environmental noise and vibration
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational ability

Compensation will range from $75K to $90K, and commensurate with experience.
