Role Description
This position will be filled at the Senior- Staff- or Chief- Engineer level, based on the experience level of the selected candidate.

In this role, you will utilize your extensive experience to develop bleeding edge controls software and strategies for diverse projects including off-highway, general automotive, heavy industrial, EV and automation applications using New Eagle’s embedded model based design (eMBD) and calibration tool, Raptor.

You will be on the front lines of change in multiple industries, with opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects for big-name companies and groundbreaking start-ups. Examples of some of our recent projects include:

  • Prototyping an on-highway commercial electric pickup truck
  • Converting gas or diesel vehicles to hybrid electric, from classic roadsters to rock crushers
  • Mining & heavy industrial autonomy applications
  • Developing one of the first HEV boats for commercial production

You will own programs, mentor early-career engineers, interact with customers, and deliver end-to-end automotive controls solutions for customers on a wide variety of applications. 

Location: On-site 4-5 days per week in Ann Arbor, MI
Compensation: Commensurate with Experience, Annual Bonus structure
 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science – Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in controls system development (system-wide)
  • Experience negotiating and defining requirements and scope of engineering projects
  • Proficiency in model-based development using MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Real-Time Workshop, and/or Embedded Coder
  • Experience with Automotive networks such as CAN/LIN


Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience with Raptor, Motohawk, openECU, ControlDesk, or EcoCoder
  • Experience with calibration tools like Raptor-Cal, ETAS INCA, ATI Vision, CANape, or MotoTune.
  • Familiarity with commercial software configuration management tools like Subversion, Synergy, ClearCase, or StarTeam
  • High voltage wiring and EV-related design experience
  • ISO 26262 functional safety certification or experience
