As a BoosterPet team member, you will have the opportunity to meet pets and pet parents throughout the greater Seattle metropolitan area as we partner with local community businesses to provide wellness care to pets. We are looking for those that are self-motivated, driven to succeed and are passionate about elevating veterinary medicine through collaboration, innovation, and providing excellent service. Our model offers services consisting of wellness clinics, and and urgent care.

This position will primarily be responsible for serving our pet community with urgent care needs. Urgent Care is ideal for pets who need to be seen by a veterinarian and their condition is not life-threatening and doesnt require an overnight hospitalization. Its similar to when you would choose a human urgent care over the emergency room.

Applicant must be open to working 1 weekend shift

Responsibilities Included But Not Limited To.....

• Play an active role in the BoosterPet medical team to provide quality medical care, model BoosterPets core values
• Ability to complete physical exams, triage and complete vitals on behalf of our DVMs
• Be tech savvy
• Support BoosterPet urgent care services and wellness as needed
• Complete detailed medical records with through medical history. Ensure medical records are accurate within the practice management system
• Educate animal owners
• Liaising with veterinarians and veterinary assistants to ensure continuity of patient care
• Follow all safety protocols to ensure safety of pets, clients, and team members
• Administering medications and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian
• Obtains and verifies medications
• performing phlebotomy duties, and providing intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections
• Restrain pets in a manner that allows necessary work to be performed, minimizes stress to pets, and ensures the safety of pets and people
• Assist at front desk/kiosk and greet clients/patients upon entry
• Answer phones and make appointments as needed
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
• Administering first aid for emergencies
• Knowledge with the RECOVER guidelines
• Induce/monitor and recover anesthetic patients
• Complete regional anesthesia when needed
• Maintains safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, maintaining equipment and complying with legal regulations
• Train new employees on standards of operations
• Safely drive to various locations in the greater metropolitan Seattle area to support BoosterPet clinics as staffing needs arise
• Other duties as assigned by managers

Requirements
Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure in Washington
