Job Description

Title: TRM Operations Specialist

Reports To: VP, Production + Logistics

FLSA: Full-Time, Exempt

Effective: 12/2022


SUMMARY

Tech Rally Mobile (TRM) is a state-of-the-art mobile showcase providing clients the ability to view and experience high tech computer solutions on location. Imagine a truck outfitted with the latest laptops, desktops and peripherals arriving at your door, allowing hands-on and in-person exploration of creative technology solutions. That’s TRM!

Reporting to the VP of Production + Logistics, the TRM Operations Specialist performs multiple functions: 1) Ensuring safe operation, outfitting, setup and timely arrival of TRM trucks to nationwide event locations, 2) Communicating and actively interfacing with clients throughout the event lifecycle to ensure event success and 3) Supporting all aspects of warehouse operations.

The position is public and client-facing, requiring extensive travel and a strong orientation to detail, organization, autonomous problem-solving, speed with accuracy, customer service and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Driver

  • Operate Class C vehicles including standard pickup trucks and 26’ box trucks to dispatched destination
  • Operate Class C vehicles for up to 8 hours at a time, correctly logging time via Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and self-managing for regulatory compliance
  • Observe all Local, State, Federal and Company driving guidelines and regulations, taking responsibility for safe vehicle operation
  • Receive and respond timely to dispatch requests for transportation during and outside of standard work/business hours, which may include weekends
  • Transport mobile showcase to and from varying locations, ensuring equipment and vehicle remain free from damage and claims
  • Perform setup and tear-down of mobile showcase, securing freight properly per SOP
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections using ELD and following repair and maintenance protocols
  • Observe and report all vehicle maintenance issues to TRM Maintenance + Fabrication Manager
  • Plan, review and execute efficient travel routes assuming responsibility for stops, overnights, vehicle parking & security, and timely event arrival per SOP
  • Book air travel and hotels, as needed, using company provided tools
  • Always represent Haute favorably, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy on the road and at events
  • Record accurately, and submit timely, all expenses in compliance with current accounting policy and procedures
  • Follow all Haute company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required at manager’s direction

Warehouse

  • Manage visual database of inventory items
  • Print appropriate labels
  • Assign warehouse space for inventory storage
  • Create reports as needed and requested
  • Manage receipt of freight, including unloading trucks
  • Create custom packaging and installations
  • Maintain warehouse for cleanliness and safety
  • Make deliveries and pickups using company vehicle
  • Refuel and wash company truck as needed
  • Elevate issues as needed for rapid resolution
  • Interact with inter-company team members as necessary to ensure project direction and completion
  • Follow all Haute company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required at manager’s direction

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to report to Leander, TX warehouse daily
  • Age 21+ as required for Driver insurance
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver License
  • Record of safe driving for preceding 3 years as reported by MVR, with no serious accidents or traffic violations
  • DOT Medical Certification or ability to obtain
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in a warehouse or similar environment
  • 2 years’ experience operating motor vehicles for compensation in a delivery capacity
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal background check and motor vehicle record check, in accordance with applicable laws
  • Able to pass initial and ongoing random drug testing


EDUCATION & TRAINING:


  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Forklift certification preferred

  • Ability to communicate clearly and courteously, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office Suite (I.e., ability to create simple documents, send/receive email, etc.) and online forums

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to sit and remain alert while driving for a period of up to 8 hours
  • Able to repeatedly enter and exit vehicle cab heights of 18” – 24” above ground level
  • Able to reach for freight above, below and at waist level
  • Able to travel by land or air up to 50% of the time
  • Able to repeatedly lift to 45 pounds
  • Able to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach and climb stairs
  • Able to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment to move/arrange/load/unload material
