Seeking heavy part-time or full-time resource (32-40 hours/week) with keen sense of providing *AMAZING* customer service with a proven experience in (or an interest/aptitude) to be trained to support Store Inventory Control (Ordering, Receiving, Production Scheduling, Inventory Analysis, Product Blending & Packaging, Restocking/Stock Room Management, Forecasting etc.) We are open to either of the following candidates:
- Inventory Control Specialist - someone with retail background with an interest in being trained to support the Inventory Management activities outlined below in direct support of the Store Manager
- Inventory Control Manager - someone with a proven, referenceable track record in Inventory Management responsibilities as outlined below
Must be available for one weekend day/week and early pre-open shifts for inventory control analysis, product production/packaging work and IC management.
Preferred Skills & Requirements
- 3-7 Years proven, measurable, and reference-able sales experience - what is your track record?
- Stellar customer service - while this is not primarily a front of house facing job, you must have an openness, comfort, and stamina to provide a "wow!" customer service experience every time in instances when you may be scheduled on the floor or have exposure to customers.
- Strong verbal & written and communication skills, and flexibility required to work on and enhance teams
- Comfort in engaging in frequent contact and communication with a wide variety of people
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and understand/follow priorities. Driven. Focused. Organized. Goal oriented.
- Comfort and dexterity with using computers; MUST HAVE EXPOSURE TO & COMFORT WITH Microsoft Office tools (specifically MS Word, Excel) and the internet. (If computers really challenge you, this will not be a good fit)
- A "numbers" person who is interested in accepting responsibility and control of all inventory management processes within the store once trained.
- Interest or inclination in the culinary arts, cooking, teas, helpful, but warm, interactive sales rapport with customers more important.
Expected Job Duties & Responsibilities: For the Inventory Control Support role, the candidate would be trained to support the Store Manager in executing/reviewing the following activities and be on a promotion path to Inventory Control Manager. For the more experienced Inventory Control Manger, the candidate would be trained to own the following activities while working closely with the Store Manager to integrate with priorities, budget, and overall store operations.
- Maintains and/or supports product information / item set up / pricing & discounting in the Point of Sale System and all associated item tagging. This includes supporting the set-up, assembly, and pricing of products and inventory orders and other tasks associated with efficient inventory management and blend/product production management.
- Responsible for Receiving (physical & within our Point of Sale (POS) system) Tracks orders, back-orders, broken/missing products and the application of credits & shipping and related correspondence with warehouse team.
- Responsible for Inventory Management Activities: including: assembly tracker, negative inventory analysis, and annual inventory; works with store management on negative inventory analysis & resolution; drive store production planning.
- Responsible for new item setup, coordinating with store management on timing to ensure new item info / STIR (The Spice & Tea Information Repository) info has been provided for team training/education.
- Prepares sales/item/order forecasts to enable order planning & execution (within budget) to support stores sales, events & promotional plans orchestrated by store management.
- Reinforces new hire orientation & training re: product handling, bagging/labeling, inventory management & production protocols
- May manage production orders (e.g. product preparation) for other stores
- Maintaining inventory management / stocking / ordering priorities and procedures, training team members and/or ensuring oversight to team activities supporting your Inventory Control efforts.
- Plus all the daily selling, customer engagement, and product activities of a typical Sales Associate
- Supporting the sharing of best practices between current and future stores.
