Job Description
Provide direct Speech Therapy services to clients with special needs, including assessments, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication. Deliver Speech-Language Therapy under physicians orders to evaluate and provide treatment for Communication/Swallowing Delays and Disorders.

The caseload will be primarily pediatric with a variety of developmental diagnoses. Treatment locations may include inclusion preschool, center-based elementary school, and outpatient clinic.

Education: Masters degree in communication sciences and Disorders from an ASHA-accredited University.
Experience: A minimum of two years' experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Have a working knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience working with children and adults with Autism preferred. Experience with AAC devices is preferred but not required.
Required Credentials: Must have a valid Drivers License. Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship from ASHA and Department of Health License from the state of Florida (or license eligible). Florida Medicaid number and National Provider Identification number preferred. CPR/First Aid Certification is preferable but will train to obtain certification.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct screenings of clients and obtain necessary data to determine the need for intervention, treatment planning, and implementation.
  • Serve as liaison to client, family, and team to conduct specialized evaluations, interpret and communicate evaluation findings, establish client schedules, and coordinate treatment plans.
  • Monitor the clients response to intervention and modify treatment as indicated to attain goals by physician orders.
  • Develop appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the performance of the client in their environment.
  • Document results of the clients assessment, treatment, follow-up, and termination of services. Participate in discharge planning.
  • Review the quality and appropriateness of the total services delivered and of individual speech therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using predetermined criteria.
Comply with Easter Seals policies and procedures utilizing the highest standards of personal and professional ethics and behavior.
Demonstrate good judgment, diplomacy, courtesy, and effective communication while working at Easter Seals or when representing the organization.
