Assistant Site Supervisor

This position will provide support for all Child Start locations.

• Assist with overall leadership and supervision of assigned Head Start sites.
• May serve as interim Site Supervisor due to absences or vacancies.
• Coordinate with Site Supervisors to create safe and inclusive work and learning environments.
• Assist with center record-keeping and reporting systems.
• Monitors compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Management, Human Services or related field, with a minimum of 9 credit hours in Early Childhood. Must have Kansas Program Directors Approval for up to 100 children 0-5.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years’ experience in Head Start or other ECE program, plus proven leadership experience. Strongly prefer at least one year’s experience in supervising staff.
• Ability to build rapport with parents.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Ability to handle stressful and sensitive situations in a professional manner.
• Ability to determine and prioritize workload while being flexible to emergent/unplanned needs and situations.
• Ability to interpret and implement complex policies and regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a team leader and team member.
• Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural differences.
• Computer literacy.

Benefits

Child Start's Assistant Site Supervisor is $23.76 per hour, 40 hours per week and 52 weeks per year.
