Team Member (Mesera)

Mesera Job Description:

The Mesera is primarily responsible for the hospitality, cleanliness, and organization of all parts of the restaurant open to our guests; this includes floors, chairs, tables, restrooms, windows, doors, the salsa bar, the soda machine, and garbage cans. It is crucial that the Mesera is always friendly, smiling, patient, and courteous while addressing customer requests. The Masera direct report is the Manager on Duty.

Mesera Daily Responsibilities:

• Mop dining areas and bathroom floors at beginning of the shift and as needed during service
• Return tables and chairs to proper locations
• Check chairs and tables for broken parts and inform a manager if necessary
• Sweep entrance and outside areas (patios/sidewalks/courtyards) Empty garbage cans in dining areas as needed
• Clean entrance doors and door handles when necessary
• Clean inside of garbage cabinets when necessary
• Clean all windows, mirrors, and glass. Windows should be cleaned 3 or more times per shift
• Clean bathrooms Toilets, sinks, urinals, countertops, mirrors, and floors
• Take out bathroom trash Keep toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap stocked
• Properly fill hand towel dispenser, overfilling leads to waste. Bathrooms should be checked every 15 minutes during hours of operation
• Stock all restaurant hand towels & hand soap dispensers (kitchen, bathroom, bar, etc)
• Check syrup for the soda machine, if low bring down refill and change out when the box is empty
• Set up Salsa Bar. Cut necessary amounts of radishes and key limes Communicate with prep cook regarding product levels of all other salsa bar condiments
• Stock and organize an appropriate amount of plastic and paper condiment cups Keep Salsa Bar and Coke Machine area stocked and tidy during service
• All Salsa bar condiments should be at least half full and on ice. All salsas should be stirred during slower times of business
• All spills should be wiped up immediately
• Bus tables. Tables and chairs should be wiped down frequently and sanitized
• Bring all plates and silverware to the dish area
• Sweep and mop
• If it is raining outside, put outdoor mats and a wet floor sign, as our floors get very
• Break down salsa bar at close
• Thoroughly sweep the dining area and restrooms at close.
