High Country Behavioral Health is seeking a PRN Mental Health Technician for our Mental Health Residential Facility, Solutions House, in Douglas, WY. The Solutions House is a psychiatric rehabilitation program for adults with serious and persistent mental illness.

PRN Defined: Work minimum of one shift per two week pay period to assist with staffing for coverage of absences for staff planned/unplanned and/or increase in census. The more you are available the more you can work if shifts are available. Shifts are 12 hours and scheduled 7:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m, and range from dayshift to nightshift, including weekends.Must be available to orientation with a mutually agreed upon training schedule and then transition to PRN.


Position Overview

Under the direction of the Group Home Case Manager, the Mental Health Technician will work closely with clients to provide them with the support and care they need on a daily basis. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting clients with daily care, shopping and transportation, documentation of behaviors and medical intake, and assure the physical safety and wellbeing of supervised clients.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily care activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
  • Document medication intake and ensure clients are taking their medications as prescribed.
  • Assist with shopping and meal planning to ensure clients have access to healthy food options.
  • Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
  • Monitor clients for any changes in behavior or medical conditions and report any concerns to medical staff.
  • Engage clients in therapeutic activities such as art, music, and exercise.
  • Help clients develop and maintain daily routines and schedules to promote stability and well-being.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.


Candidate Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with individuals in behavioral health preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and customer service in all interactions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to establish rapport with clients.
  • Successful completion of HCBH pre-employment screening and background check.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand, sit, and use the hands. Occasionally stoop, crouch, or kneel. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 25 pounds.
