Job Summary:
This position will create stimulating and varied programs of leisure activities and social events. These events will be inside and outside of the Intergenerational Life Center for all participants to enjoy as part of the overall programming for each area. (art, music, health & wellness, information technology, and mailroom)
This position reports to the Activities Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Plan and execute a varied program of on-site leisure activities and social events along with off-site excursions.
· Participate in regular planning meetings with the ILC Team.
· Communicate with the ILC Director and team members to calendar all on-site activities/social events and off-site activities.
· Monitor all expenses and budget for specific on-site activities/social events and off-site activities.
· Ensure that all activities/social events and off-site activities are supplied with materials when needed.
· Collaborate and engage with ILC team members and community agencies and vendors.
· Procure the paperwork for any special permission(s) needed for participation by any of the participants here at Harbor House; keep it on file.
· Surveys all participants prior to-and-after any activity to ascertain how the participants felt… what he/she learned… and how this activity impacted their personal/educational goals.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Has knowledge of and familiarity with general features of Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals.
- Cooperative attitude and teamwork approach.
· Exhibits excellent customer service/relational skills.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required. (Bachelor’s degree preferred.)
· Must be able to acquire and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.
Physical Requirements:
· Alternating periods of sitting, standing and walking for up to 8-hour shifts.
· Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
