POSITION SUMMARY

Using prescribed specifications and work instructions visually and dimensionally inspect in-process and completed sheet metal formed, processed, machined or fabricated material/products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection on finished product, surface finished, and/or in-process sheet metal material/products per specifications and standards.
  • Verify required certifications are present and comply with work order or traveler.
  • Verify prior operations have been completed and properly documented on the traveler.
  • Inspect finished product for dimensional conformance and surface quality finish.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • Two (2) years related experience in manufacturing environment or equivalent of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of quality control and inspection methods.
  • Ability to complete visual weld inspections.
  • Ability to us a variety of hand tools for inspections including but not limited to calipers, Pi Tape, micrometer, tape measure and pin gages.
  • Ability to read blueprints and/or other specifications from engineering drawings or travelers.
  • Ability understand and follow standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Ability to see details and handle objects.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.

Pay Rate: The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
