Fire & Integration Specialist LEVEL II

We currently are seeking a highly independent, problem-solving individual, possessing installation and service experience within the low-voltage electronic space to fill the role of Fire & Integration Specialist, Level II.

Salary and Benefits:

Hourly wage varies from $57 to $65.00, commensurate with skills, product knowledge, and experience. The right Candidate:

Here are the minimum qualifications you will need:

  • 8 years (minimum) relevant experience with fire alarm systems and low voltage installations
  • Basic understanding of electronics, wiring, local and national codes
  • Experience with programming electronic systems within a network-connected environment
  • Valid state driver’s license without restrictions
  • State of WA; Active EL06 license
  • Current Seattle FD & NICET 2 Certifications
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending engineered drawings
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to interact well with other employees and customers
  • Strong work ethic and teamwork; “can do” attitude and desire to provide the best service
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision

It would be excellent if you had these qualifications, but they are not required:

  • NICET 2 Certification or higher
  • Experience with sprinkler monitoring and large complex systems with smoke control
  • Vocational/technical degree in electrical, security, computer systems
  • IT/Networking Certification or ESA Certified Alarm Technician
  • Certifications (or experience) with Bosch, Siemens, Notifier, Simplex, Edwards/EST, Honeywell, Radionics, Genetec, DMP, OpenEye, Vigilant, Axis, and/or other fire and security solutions a plus

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Programming and Commissioning fire panels
  • Install security systems, panels, hardware, CCTV, and related equipment following work orders, blueprints of electrical layouts, building plans, etc.
  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment/systems by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating security systems and equipment to ensure it’s in satisfactory working order.
  • Survey installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
  • Utilizes technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of assigned tasks.
  • Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors by safely operating hand and power tools.
  • Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position cables, wires, and strappings when needed.
  • Collaborate amongst various teams including I.T., Customer Service, and Remote Field Support to complete assigned tasks.
  • Leveraging company-provided communication tools to complete and submits all required job-related activities, productivity, and documentation promptly on time.
  • Provide customer instruction on system operation and functionality.
  • Maintain company vehicle in a clean and organized manner and maintains the necessary truck stock/inventory.
  • Comply with industry-standard and company-specific safety guidelines.
  • Cultivate knowledge of industry changes and new developments in products and technology.
  • Occasional travel to remote areas outside the Seattle metropolitan area.

Requirements and work environment while performing the duties of this job:

  • Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
  • Use vision abilities including: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
  • Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
  • Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work a full-time and occasional on-call service rotation.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
  • Pass all pre-employment drug and background checks.
