Job Summary: Warehouse Worker is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming shipments. This position will be responsible for receiving goods, picking and packing orders and preparing shipments. The focus of the position will vary between general warehouse as business needs change.

• Pick all parts required to fulfill an order.
• Compare identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipment to verify information against bills of lading, invoiced, order, or other records.
• Insert items into containers, using spacers, fillers and protective padding. Assemble wooden or cardboard containers of select preassembled containers. Nail covers on wooden crates and bind containers with metal tape using a strapping machine.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damage items, record shortages, rectify damages and shortages. Receive inbound freight. Sort and place items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined product code.
• May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipment from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Maintain records of all outgoing and incoming shipment from and to the warehouse. • Ensure order accuracy with attention to detail and verify receipts against the accompanying packing slips.
• Perform the unpacking of shipment deliveries and distribute contents to the right warehouse bin location.
• Maintain inventory to ensure that the actual physical inventory matches the database logical inventory.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Follow safe work practices and accident prevention procedures, understand rules and procedures relating to health and safety.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills/Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0-1 year of experience in warehouse and/or shipping and receiving
• Forklift experience desired
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally 50-100 lbs, able to push/pull up to 40 lbs frequently and on occasion 41-100 lbs. This position also requires working on a computer periodically throughout the day. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands.

• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in a warehouse environment.
