Assistant to Estimator- Paid Internship

Summary of Intern Position:

Thank you for considering Precision General Commercial Contractors, Inc. for your summer internship. As a member of our Sacramento office, you'll be aligned with the Project Cost Estimating team, adhering to the standards and guidelines in our Employment Handbook.

Your Responsibilities:

• Support the Project Estimator with the day-to-day tasks necessary for the successful completion of projects.
• Take an active role in managing and updating the estimating cost database, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for the team.
• Familiarize yourself with processing estimating RFIs for various projects.
• Manage relationships with suppliers for timely procurement and delivery of materials.

Your tasks include:

• • Assisting in the preparation and fine-tuning of bid documents.
  • Assist with Pre-Qualifying new subcontractors'
  • Supporting the estimation team to maintain accuracy and meet project deadlines.
  • Facilitating subcontractor efforts to ensure timely and specification-compliant work.
  • Ensuring subcontractor compliance with OSHA and safety regulations.

Reporting and Communication:

• Compile and submit comprehensive weekly reports to the Project Executive, ensuring timely updates on progress and challenges.

Education:

• A high school diploma is required; preference given to those enrolled in a college program relevant to construction management or engineering.

Experience and Skills:

• Proficiency in basic computer operations, including Microsoft 365, with a willingness to learn industry-specific software.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
• Excellent organizational abilities, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Effective at managing multiple tasks and deadlines, with a capacity for prioritizing effectively.
• Adaptable, with the ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, reach, stoop, and lift items weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment for extended periods.
• Prepared for desk-bound tasks, including significant computer and telephone work, throughout.
