This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for occupants and visitors. The Janitor plays a crucial role in upholding hygiene standards and contributing to the overall satisfaction of building occupants.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting surfaces.
- Disinfect commonly used items like refrigerator doors, microwaves, door handles, etc...
- Empty and sanitize waste bins and dispose of trash in designated receptacles.
- Clean and sanitize restroom facilities including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Replenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, as needed.
- Clean and maintain common areas including corridors, lobbies, and entrances.
- Sweep and remove debris from sidewalks, pathways, parking lots, and other exterior areas.
- Perform seasonal maintenance tasks such as leaf removal, snow shoveling, and salting walkways during inclement weather.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure availability for future tasks.
- Follow established safety procedures and protocols to minimize hazards in the workplace.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with special cleaning projects or tasks as assigned by supervisors.
- Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- All other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills:
- High school diploma and 2+ years of experience in janitorial or custodial work.
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and a cooperative attitude towards teamwork.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to stand up 8+ hours per day.
- Physically able to move and transport up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, balance, and reach overhead.
- Ability to bend, grip and move fingers/hands.
- Ability to work in various environments and weather conditions.
