Job Description
Full-time (37.5 - 40 hours per week)

Must be available Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm

Position available in May.



Salary Range: $25.00 to $30.00 hourly. (Increase in salary may be available for bilingual speakers)

For nearly 70 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue has been committed to providing safe places for Bellevue’s youth ages 3-18 when they are not in school. Targeting the neighborhoods that need us most, Clubs ensure all youth have equal access to life-enhancing programming focused on academics, health, and leadership. At the Club, our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. 

Be Great! Graduate! Overview 

Our BE GREAT! Graduate! program works with teens in grades 6-12 throughout the school year and summer months to address academic achievement. Our location offers a quiet, spacious working environment to fit most studying and other academic needs. To ensure academic success, the program also offers one-on-one case management and assistance to identify and break down barriers for specific youth struggling in school. Our goal is to help teens get to where they need to be to ensure they have a successful future.


BGCB is an everchanging organization and strives to meet the fluctuating needs of youth and the community. Because of this, we are looking for flexible individuals who are comfortable in an environment where job responsibilities and location could be subject to change.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants must have 6 months to a year of previous experience working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar after-school setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth, parents and community partners.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Must have valid driver license and good driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have completed high school; some college experience preferred
  • Must pass National Background Check and Driving Record Check
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This is a Full-time position supervising, mentoring and tutoring youth in grades 6-12 in our TXL building.
  • Plan, develop and implement a specific strategy to ensure the on-time graduation of a targeted group of Club members.
  • Outreach to families and engage parent/guardians as active partners in the academic progress of teen members.
  • Engage key school district contacts to assist and support programmatic efforts as well as individual families.
  • Build positive relationships with select teen members with focus on academic success and support.
  • Facilitate National BGCA programs to augment and strengthen the Be Great! Graduate! Curriculum.
  • Develop individualized academic progress plans for specifically selected teen members.
  • Responsible for management in collaboration with Unit Director of the 21st CCLC grant
  • Works mornings at Highland Middle School with a caseload of mentees
  • Attends mandatory trainings for the grant, including some travel
