QA Automation Engineer

Position Overview:

Brandlive is seeking a talented QA Automation Engineer to join our team. Reporting directly to the DevOps Manager, the QA Automation Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated test suites, and collaborating closely with developers to integrate automated testing into the development process.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automated test suites to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software products.
• Audit the current test suite (Codecept/Playwright) and determine if it is worth salvaging or starting brand new.
• Collaborate with developers to understand feature requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Integrate automated testing into the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enable rapid and reliable software releases.
• Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure proper configuration and management of testing environments.
• Identify and report defects, track issues to resolution, and verify fixes.
• Mentor and provide guidance to other QA engineers, including overseeing their work and providing feedback on testing methodologies and practices.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in QA automation and testing tools.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on automation testing.
• Integration test automation experience in NodeJS
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools, such as Playwright, Puppeteer, Postman, and Artillery.
• Experience with automated testing of REST APIs.
• TypeScript experience
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies
• Experience of test management using JIRA, Zephyr and Confluence
• Experience with development build and deployment (CI/CD) environments, Github preferred.  
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Verbal and written fluency in professional business communication required in English
• Experience managing or mentoring QA engineers is a plus.
• Ability to work onsite at our Portland, Oregon HQ or work from home. Eligible candidates must reside in one of the following states: AZ, CA, CO, GA, IN, ME, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, WA, KY, FL, IL, AL, CT, MA, MI, MO, NV, RI, TN, or VA.
