IYA Medical is seeking an experienced, Radiology Manager for their growing Radiology Imaging & Interventional Radiology Outpatient Surgery center located in Prescott, Arizona. This is a crucial administrative position within our healthcare institution, responsible for overseeing the operations of the Radiology department. Below is a comprehensive job description.

Position Title: Radiology Manager

Overview:

The Radiology Manager is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the radiology department. This includes overseeing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing equipment, growing the business and optimizing workflow efficiency to provide high-quality imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management:
    • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate radiology department staff.
    • Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to radiology personnel.
    • Conduct performance reviews and implement disciplinary action when necessary.
    • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional development.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including those set by governing bodies such as the FDA, ACR (American College of Radiology), and state health departments.
    • Develop and implement quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care and imaging accuracy.
    • Monitor and evaluate radiology procedures to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to department activities and compliance efforts.
  • Equipment Management:
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of radiology equipment, ensuring that all machines are in proper working condition.
    • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
    • Develop and implement protocols for the safe and efficient use of radiology equipment.
    • Manage inventory and supplies necessary for radiology procedures.
  • Workflow Optimization:
    • Analyze department workflows and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvement.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline processes and reduce patient wait times.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and scheduling.
  • Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage the department budget, including forecasting expenses and allocating resources appropriately.
    • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management regarding departmental finances and performance metrics.
  • Patient Care and Satisfaction:
    • Ensure that patients receive high-quality care and have positive experiences during their radiology procedures.
    • Address patient concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
    • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Current certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in radiology management or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of radiology procedures, equipment, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and medical imaging software.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Working Conditions:

  • The Radiology Manager works in a outpatient surgery clinical setting.
