Dental Hygienist Needed in Raleigh

As a Dental Hygienist contracted under this position, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental hygiene services under the clinical supervision of the Correctional Dental Director/Designee. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

a. Clinic and Operatory Preparation:

• Ensure the clinic and operatory are adequately prepared for the delivery of dental treatment.

b. Documentation:

• Accurately document all care and procedures provided to offender patients following the guidelines outlined in the Department’s Health Care Procedures Manual. This includes recording medical and dental histories, as well as dental charting.

c. Oral Cavity Screening:

• Conduct thorough screenings of offender patients' oral cavities.

d. Prophylaxis and Polishing:

• Perform prophylaxis and polishing procedures on the dentition.

e. Radiography:

• Take radiographs of diagnostic quality as needed.

f. Model Work:

• Pour and trim clinically acceptable models as required.

g. Oral Hygiene Instructions:

• Provide oral hygiene instructions to offender patients to promote optimal dental health.

h. Infection Control:

• Adhere strictly to all infection control rules and protocols.

i. Instrument Sterilization:

• Ensure proper disinfection and sterilization of all instruments, equipment, and surfaces between patient appointments.

j. Reporting:

• Prepare monthly reports and time sheets accurately and submit them within the designated time frame.

k. Professional Demeanor:

• Maintain a professional demeanor and chairside manner at all times.

l. Collaboration and Communication:

• Cooperate and communicate effectively with all staff members, fostering positive interactions and teamwork.
