SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Radiology Manager and Supervisor, the Radiologic Technologist is primarily responsible for performing imaging exams in the Medical Imaging Department.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Practice within the scope of licensure; comply with federal and state legal and professional requirements.
- Prepare patients for exam by greeting the patient by his/her first and last name, obtaining patient history information necessary to perform or evaluate the procedure, and providing instructions and explanation of the procedure to obtain the best possible image.
- Follow approved radiologist protocols and imaging parameters while delivering quality patient care and ensuring safety.
- Prepare and position patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
- Serves as the primary liaison between patients and Radiologists and other members of the support team.
- Use professional and ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing their duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current.
- knowledge and skills for continued competence.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Basic understanding of computer technology.
- Perform all duties using proper body mechanics.
- Frequently move/lift between 50-100 pounds, depending on assignment requirements.
- Stand for long periods with frequent squatting, twisting, bending, kneeling and reaching to prepare equipment, materials or objects in order to provide patient care or maintain the patient environment.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment.
- Ability to follow directions/instructions from his/her supervisor.
- Consistent attendance is required to assure that the facilities’ needs, and patient needs are met.
- To comply with all facilities’ policies, procedures and practices.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- One-year full time experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Valid state Radiology registration as required by state law.
- Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
- Current CPR/BLS Certification.
- Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Radiologic Technologist must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as radiation, noise, infectious/communicable diseases, blood and blood borne diseases, chemicals and/or chemical fumes, odors, gases and dusts. Frequent exposures to distressed patients, families or visitors.
COVID-19 CONSIDERATIONS:
All patients are subjected to COVID screening and are required to wear a mask when not receiving treatment. All staff members must be fully vaccinated.

Salary: $25.46 - $26.35 per hour
