Hob Press Operator - Rotating or 2nd Shift

The Hob Press Operator at our Elizabeth Tooling - McKeesport, PA facility plays a crucial role in the cold forming process by receiving precision hobs crafted by our Hob Makers. These hobs are essential components used in the production of rotary press punches, which are utilized in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and food tablet manufacturing industries. The Hob Press Operator is responsible for the efficient and precise operation of machinery to use hobs to produce high-quality tablet compression tooling.

Job Responsibilities:

• Receive precision hobs crafted by Hob Makers and ensure they meet visual quality standards and specifications.
  
• Set up and operate hob press machines, ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
  
• Load hobs into the press and initiate the compression process, following established procedures.
  
• Monitor machine operations to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in the tablet tooling production process.
  
• Conduct regular quality checks using measuring instruments to verify that finished tablet tooling meets tolerances and finish requirements.
  
• Troubleshoot and address any issues that may arise during the hob press operation, including adjusting settings or making minor repairs as needed.
  
• Collaborate with Hob Makers and production teams to maintain an efficient workflow and resolve any Hob-related issues promptly.
  
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  

Job Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  
• Prior experience as a Hob Press Operator or in a similar role is preferred, but not mandatory.
  
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and operate hob press machinery effectively.
  
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality tablet compression tooling.
  
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with Hob Makers, engineers, and production teams.
  
• Problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and meet production goals.
  

Pay: The hourly range is between $18-23/hr based on your education, skills, and experience. 2nd shift offers a $3.00 shift differential!

Schedule Availability: 1st shift Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and 2nd shift Monday - Friday 3:00 pm -11:00 pm. Overtime and Saturdays may be required based on production levels.
