We are currently seeking a skilled Designer/Drafter to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our design department, you will play a crucial role in transforming ideas into detailed technical drawings and models using SolidWorks software. The Designer/Drafter will provide support to mechanical engineers by creating and modifying detailed 3D model and mechanical drawings using SolidWorks from sketches, layouts and notes provided by engineers.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Create and modify CAD models of mechanical components and assemblies based on engineering sketches, notes, or instructions provided by engineers.
• Produce 2D drawings, exploded views, BOMs, and other engineering drawings in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Translate 2D drawings into 3D models.
• Create assembly instructions for internal use, and customer user manuals for existing products.
• Maintain and archive CAD data according to departmental operating procedures.
• Ensure that all drafted components and assemblies meet specified design requirements and standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members to clarify requirements and ensure project objectives are met.
• Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and efficiently.
• Meet project deadlines consistently and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
• Manage multiple assignments concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Utilize good mechanical intuition and aptitude to identify potential design improvements and optimization opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Do You Have:

• Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology, Drafting technology or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in drafting complex mechanical components and assemblies.
• Certification in SolidWorks or related CAD software.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Familiarity with GD&T principles.
• Intermediate-level proficiency in SolidWorks software.
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5-2018 standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and efficiently.
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and maintaining great attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
• Demonstrated mechanical intuition and aptitude for problem-solving.
