The purpose of this position is to be a resource for participants of all Las Vegas Plans and LV National Plans, the Union and for internal Fund staff who are seeking assistance with regard to navigating and understanding the complex health system, assisting with understanding the “participant’s point of view” and communicating benefits and wellness. This position will assist in the coordination of open enrollments in Las Vegas and for the national Hospitality plan.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES


    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Unions (local/national) based on mutual respect and trust to support Union/Fund initiatives
    • Create a forum to establish an information base for Shop Stewards nationwide that will empower them with knowledge of benefits, healthcare delivery and direct access to the Fund Advocacy team
    • Conducts benefit, HIPAA, and web portal training to Union staff, volunteers, and LOAs
    • Plans and carries out assigned projects, including but not limited to annual open enrollment, member outreach campaigns, and other projects as assigned
    • Serves as a direct liaison to between the Fund and Union partners, fostering effective communication on local and nationwide levels
    • Conducts Advocacy either over the phone or on-site at the Union, in the Culinary Pharmacy and at various properties in order to educate participants, employers, and Union staff on the Fund’s benefits, eligibility rules and programs
    • Serves as a back-up advocate at the Culinary Health Centers when needed
    • Assists in coordinating on-site enrollments for all plans in partnership with Zenith American
    • Participates in health fairs, benefit education programs, enrollment activities, surveys and other in-service activities as required
    • Collect, analyze, and utilize data to identify opportunities to address issues promptly
    • Provide onsite benefit education for local and national plans
    • Act as a resource person in health education
    • Educates, motivates and recruits participants regarding participation in Fund programs designed to improve health outcomes
    • Provides input to management regarding concerns identified through various interactions with participants
    • Act as an escalation point for participant issues for all plans
    • Assists with the identification of participants requiring follow-up services
    • Driving on Fund Business and/or Fund-owned or –leased vehicle
    • Work outside traditional office hours as needed (for example evenings and weekends)
    • Sets goals and achieve measurable results
    • Contributes ideas to plans and achieving department goals

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 ~ 6 years of related experience minimum
  • Spanish Bi-lingual skills required
  • Working knowledge and experience in a health care field and/or customer service type environment
