Special Needs Caregiver

We are seeking a warm-hearted, active caregiver to support our home-based adult daughter who is recovering from a brain injury. There is availability for a combination of weekday and weekend shifts emerging in early September, with morning shifts occurring 7am-1pm and afternoon shifts 1pm-8pm each day. Specific schedules will be arranged between the hired caregiver and family during the onboarding process.

It is anticipated that incoming caregivers will complete a training period at the starting rate, and advance to the full rate after completing training and performance objectives.

This position will be a terrific fit for caregivers who are positive thinkers with active lifestyles! You would join an awesome team of established caregivers, who help our special needs adult daughter recognize the recurring patterns within each day. Shifts are arranged to include daily hiking around various trails of Colorado Springs and surrounding areas, along with an abundance of community outings and supported volunteer opportunities.

In all activities, team members' responsibilities include:

• Following Treatment Plans and daily procedures with an easy-to-follow checklist,
• Providing assistance with ADLs,
• Providing companionship with daily activities, physical exercise, and chores,
• Offering encouragement to keep an upbeat attitude,
• Demonstrating socially appropriate behavior and conversations,
• Documenting each day's activities and noted behaviors,
• Arriving to work promptly and reliably completing shifts as scheduled, while
• Maintaining a functional vehicle to drive between our home and community destinations
