EPOXY OPERATOR

1.0 STATEMENT OF THE JOB:

The epoxy operator is responsible for ensuring that the stators receive a smooth even coverage of epoxy powder.

2.0 JOB DUTIES:

2.1 Remove stators from the line after going through the epoxy oven.

2.2 Check stators for bad welds, lifted lams, ect.

2.3 Transfer hot stators on to the epoxy machine.

2.4 Remove hot epoxied stators from the epoxy turn table.

2.5 Check stators for epoxy coverage. Do hourly epoxy thickness check and record.

2.6 Do minor adjustment on machine to get smooth even coverage.

2.7 Grind the epoxied stator with a grinding wheel.

2.8 Visually inspect the stators and rework if needed.

2.9 Drill bolt holes and visually inspect.

2.10 Use plug gauge to ensure parts pass inspection.

2.11 Stack epoxied stators.

2.12 Properly identify and label parts using material identification tags.

2.13 Perform additional duties as assigned.

3.0 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Qualified epoxy operators must be able to use both hands at the same time and have excellent vision for inspection. The operators must be able to bend, turn, and twist repetitively. It is essential that the operator be able to twist and turn wrists. The operator must be able to tolerate a hot and dusty environment. The operator must be able to use small hand tools. All operators must be able to stand throughout the shift and lift 35 lbs. Employee must be able to be fork truck certified.

4.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Safety glasses and hearing protection are required. When working on the grinding line, employees must not wear loose or baggy clothing. Loose or baggy clothing can get caught in the grinder causing serious injury. The operator is also required to wear a left-handed insulated glove. The employee works in a hot, dusty environment.
