Position Overview: The Commercial Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in commercial buildings and facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety protocols, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in commercial buildings and facilities.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to determine the layout and installation of wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Install and troubleshoot electrical wiring, controls, and lighting systems.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or necessary repairs and make recommendations for upgrades or replacements.
- Follow electrical code, manuals, and regulations to ensure compliance with safety standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and other trades professionals to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicate effectively with clients, and address any concerns or questions related to electrical services.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or technical school in electrical work preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Commercial Electrician or similar role in the electrical industry.
- Valid electrician license or certification as required by state and local regulations.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, controls, and components.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Ability to use electrical tools, equipment, and testing devices safely and effectively.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
