Summary/Objective
The electrical assembly team member will receive on the job training to produce electrical equipment and components using detailed work instructions. This position works in a group of 5-10 peers.

Essential Functions

Accepting entry level applicants for on-the-job training as well as experienced team members. All employees are paid according to a transparent and structured tier system based on their abilities.

  • Assemble electrical harnesses and control panels according to electrical prints
  • Learn to read and interpret electrical prints and documents
  • Ability to use hand tools to cut, crimp, tin and splice electrical wires
  • Attain assembly production goals by accurately and timely completing work orders with minimum supervision
  • Clock in and out of appropriate operations on each job
  • Reports defective or questionable material conditions to the assembly team leader
  • Reports discrepancies on electrical prints or documents to assembly team leader
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement activities for the department and building
  • Relay tooling or equipment needs to assembly team leader
  • Safely operate all equipment pertaining to the department; braider, wire processor, forklift, electrical crimper

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, oil, and grease. The team member is occasionally exposed to vibration. The team member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and performs work from a variety of different angles and body positions. The team member may be occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at customers' premises. The noise level in the work environment and customer locations can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, crouching, and crawling. The team member is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The team member is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

The team member must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds; and frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are:
  • Day shift begins no later than 6:00 a.m. and runs until 3:00 p.m., 40 hours per week is expected. Hours are flexible, and management is open minded based on individual circumstances.
Opportunities to work overtime hours are optional and may be required with increased market demand.

Travel

No travel is regularly expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED diploma, or three to six months' related experience (in farming, construction, carpentry, or manufacturing) or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Three to six months'+ experience using equipment and tool terminology.
  • Three to six months'+ work experience in electrical or assembly of parts
  • Three to six months'+ experience safely operating machines.
