Inspection Specialist

Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant is a new construction that will have the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. This $2.3 billion investment will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors’ North American electric vehicle applications.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Inspection Specialist who has experience with industrial and manufacturing equipment maintenance. We operate a safe, clean facility and consider safety and security our top priorities, so we are looking for a professional whose values reflect our own. This role will apply Inspection expertise to insure the safe and reliable operation of site process plant and reduce operating costs. This is accomplished by executing assigned work according to plan and schedule, noting any job plan deviations, and providing input on improvement opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspection Specialist is responsible for operating and maintaining all inspection equipment (electrical measurement system, optic vision system, laser sensor, etc) in the battery process.

• Inspection equipment (Vision, electrical insulation tester, thickness measure, etc)

• Troubleshoot all Inspection machines

• Error proofing execution

• Gage R&R execution

• system check and restart

• Responsible for maintaining operational status of all Inspection machines throughout the facility

• Inspection equipment operation and monitoring

• Operating and Monitoring ROS(Remote operate system)

• Real-time Inspection data monitoring

• Rapid analysis and reporting in case of inspection equipment problems

• Continuous monitoring of the results of the measures

• Participate and lead as required maintenance improvement activities

• Evaluate new and replacement electronic/electrical hardware

• Maintains vision equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies

• Completing all documentation using a computerized maintenance management system.

• Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• High school diploma/GED

• Vocational Certificate or Associates Degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience

• Must be able to speak and read English

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with skills in using formulas, functions, and data visualization tools

• Experience with mechanical systems, Vision System, and Image analysis is highly preferred.

• Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
