The Applications Engineer will assist Sales and Aftermarket staff by providing technical information on the use of CIDAN machine to produce customer parts/products, efficiently and accurately. We are looking for an outgoing, creative, driven, problem solver with experience working or operating sheet metal Folding Machines, Coil Processing Lines, Lasers, Punches, Press Brakes, or Automated Panel Benders.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or certification in a related technical field plus two years of experience in a machine tool related field, or three to five years' experience in a related position is required
• Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, a desire to be part of providing solutions to customers and an inquisitive disposition
• Ability to effectively work in a team environment with other engineers
• Ability to manage projects independently with minimal supervision
• Mechanical ability to understand sheet metal part design and fabrication processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically strong in Excel
• Experience CAD/CAM Programming software or other design softwares

Responsibilities

• The Applications Engineer will assist Customers, Sales, and Aftermarket staff by providing technical information on the use of CIDAN machine tools to produce customer parts/products, efficiently and with required accuracy
• Provide telephone / e-mail customer support on the operation and applications use of CIDAN Products
• Provide part processing / Machine recommendations to best produce customer parts
• Calculate time study estimates of machine cycle time
• Demonstrate machine operation and machine features at trade shows and open house events
• Safely rig and install machines at trade show events
• Provide customer training on safe machine operation and detailed machine functions at the customer facility
• Perform demonstrations on machine capability / prove processing concepts
• Perform full-turnkey process development and testing including statistical analysis of part measurement
• Create technical documentation such as Service bulletins, manual edits, install checklists, training agendas and manuals, etc.
• Approximately 30% of travel is required
• Responsible for identifying and performing training and development needs of the field service team
• Complete written reports after completion of each training segment to document training outcome and effectiveness
• Complete reports, assessment of problems, repairs completed, parts installed, and time involved
• Coordinates and expedites as required, repair parts to obtain realistic delivery dates
• Utilizes excellent customer relationship skillset
