Environmental Technician I

Job Summary: The Environmental Technician I assists with field projects, completes all field tasks, including mobilization, sampling materials in the field, documentation of field procedures, and any related tasks in support of field efforts. The Environmental Technician professionally prepares documents (figures, tables, text, email correspondence, etc.) to describe and present results.

Responsibilities:

Assists staff on projects related to Phase I & II Environmental Site Inspections, Brownfield Cleanup Program, and Geoprobe soil boring installation.

• Conducts fieldwork, sample collection, sample delivery, document sampling procedures.(soil boring logs, monitoring well construction diagrams, well purge logs, vapor logs, etc.)
• Receives and reviews analytical data, assemble tables, figures (with assistance from staff GIS and AutoCAD Technicians).
• Prepares summary report for senior level staff on research related projects.​​​​​​
• Works with junior and senior level staff on research related projects.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science or applicable degree program.

Experience:
Minimum 0-2 years.

Required Competencies:

• Excellent attention to detail, excellent technical writing skills,
• Working knowledge of NYSDEC and other compliance.
• Knowledge of general environmental health and safety standards.
• Completion of OSHA HAZWOPER training.
• Ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license.
