Title: Post-Judgment Follow Up Clerk                                              Department: Legal Operations

Reports to: Post Judgment Supervisor                                   FLSA Status: Non-Exempt $22.00 - $25.00 hour  

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for following-up on post judgment execution activities.  Work with Post Judgment Supervisor to execute on post judgment follow-up across 5 states.  Responsible for meeting daily production targets, maintaining quality of work, and communicating to their supervisor challenges within the follow-up process, and possible process improvements. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities include timely follow-up on garnishment service, answer, funds, data integrity of assets in system of record, and management of inbound communication via email and calls from sheriff, service providers, garnishees, or court.  Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and compliance through each step of the process.
  • Works on lists as provided by supervisor.  Meets daily and monthly production targets, and ensures highest standard of quality is met.
  • Able to effectively communicate on purpose of call and what is needed through phone or email with garnishees and sheriffs.
  • Understands post judgment processes for California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado.  Is able to identify process breaks, and how to move an account to the best next step in the post judgment process. 
  • Is fluent in client requirements and company compliance policies on account treatment.
  • Proactively communicates obstacles and escalates to supervisor when assistance is needed.

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.  This position involves sitting most of the time.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and color vision in reading a computer monitor.  Clear speech is needed to communicate on the telephone.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Thorough knowledge of collection processes in a law firm environment
  • Experience in customer service/collections/legal processes including correspondence
  • Demonstrated success with hitting production and quality targets month over month. 
  • Proven ability to work in a fast pace environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary work with repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, typing, and analyzing data. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
