Vehicle Collection Operator

Roadway Asset Services, LLC (RAS) is looking for a self-motivated individual to operate and maintain our Roadway Asset Collection vehicle full-time while collecting data for evaluation of pavements and ROW assets. The position requires an individual with some knowledge of computers, file systems, and GIS mapping, who enjoys working independently in a two-person team and collaborates well with others. The individual will need to operate numerous computer programs while instructing a driver to navigate through a roadway network and manually engage cameras and monitoring software to collect data. This position requires 100% travel, as the job will be based on the location of the projects and will require working in one location for a few weeks up to a few months before mobilizing to a new project. The work will involve travel throughout the United States, and the selected candidate will be traveling for several months at a time, with limited breaks.

The operator will be responsible for operating the equipment daily, backing up files, communicating with a supervisor, and maintenance of the van, including daily and weekly equipment calibrations. We offer a full-time salary of $45,000 to $60,000 annually, based on education and experience, with additional per diem of $50 per day for meals and travel. Employees will be housed in extended stay type hotels, when possible, with all expenses paid for lodging. The employee will be provided airline tickets to return home for one week breaks every 4 months. The position also includes health insurance with 50% paid by company and 120 hours vacation per year.

Requirements include a clean driving record with no DUI’s, major violations, or license suspensions. No direct experience is required as RAS will train for the position. College education and degree, or relevant military background, are preferred. Employees must complete a background check and pass a drug test prior to employment.
