Skilled Laborer

As a Skilled Laborer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of our yard and shop facilities. You will be responsible for various tasks related to both outdoor and indoor environments, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our facilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Material Handling: Receive, unload, and organize incoming materials and equipment in the yard. Transfer materials to designated areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as necessary. Assist with loading and unloading trucks for delivery and shipment.

2. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of materials and equipment stored in the yard and shop. Perform regular stock checks, reorder supplies as needed, and report any discrepancies or shortages to management.

3. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on yard equipment, machinery, and vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety. Conduct inspections, lubricate moving parts, and perform minor repairs or adjustments as required.

4. Facility Maintenance: Keep the yard and shop areas clean, organized, and free of debris. Sweep, shovel, or use power equipment to remove dirt, snow, and other debris from walkways, driveways, and parking lots. Assist with general maintenance tasks such as painting, repairing fences, and landscaping.

5. Assistance with Projects: Provide support to other departments or teams as needed. Assist with construction projects, assembly tasks, or special assignments requiring manual labor and technical skills.

6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while performing duties in the yard and shop. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and participate in safety training programs to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
3. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in operating yard equipment such as power tools.
4. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, stoop, and work in various weather conditions.
5. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
6. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
