Job Description

Colorado Canine Orthopedics is seeking a board-certified veterinary surgeon to join our growing practice. Our practice is dedicated to state-of-the-art small animal orthopedics and routine neurosurgery. Arthroscopy, tibial plateau leveling osteotomy, total hip replacement, fracture repair, and IVDD spinal surgery make up the majority of our caseload. The staff and doctors have established a wonderful, cooperative, and fun work environment. The synergy and collegiality between doctors (and staff) are unsurpassed.

Our practice is a well-known leader in Colorado and the western U.S. for our expertise in orthopedics. We have a large caseload and referral base, as well as a great rapport with our general practitioners. Our workdays are busy and energetic with an extremely positive vibe.

The surgeons’ schedule is essentially four-day workweeks with no “on-call” or emergency duty and 12 weeks off per year. Compensation and benefits are competitive with other private practices and can be discussed on an individual basis. The generous schedule affords time to pursue a wonderful quality of life, whether that means raising a family, participating in outdoor adventures, staying professionally motivated, or all of the above.

Colorado Springs and the entire state of Colorado is an exceptional place to live and work. Colorado Springs is the second-largest city in the state but has an easy-going small-town feel. The city is beautiful and offers many cultural, culinary, and fun activities. Colorado Springs offers a wide range of exceptional family opportunities, including a great public school system as well as charter and private school options; city-wide sports and recreation clubs for both developmental and competitive leagues; and numerous activity choices such as the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and both minor league baseball and soccer.

Colorado Springs is also within an hour drive of Denver and 2 to 3 hours from world-class skiing and mountain activities, both summer and winter. Of course, Pikes Peak towers over Colorado Springs and is accessible just out of our backdoor. Outdoor adventure opportunities include downhill, cross country and back-country skiing/snowboarding, fly-fishing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, photography, and camping. Colorado Springs’ weather is amazing with nearly 300 sunny days each year. Overall, the summers are cool and the winters are warm.
