Cashier for Recycling Facility
- Full-Time
· Cash Handling: Accurate cash handling procedures are to be used at all times. These procedures include the use of count sheets, electric money counter, and counting out the cash to each customer. The cash will be reconciled both in the morning and at the end of the buying day. Two (2) different employees will be assigned the responsibility of counting the cash.
· Computer Skills: Cashiers will have basic computer knowledge and feel comfortable when using one. American Metals uses industry specific software. Each cashier will be given instructions on how to use RIMAS. It is the cashier’s responsibility to become familiar with and knowledgeable with the software.
· Customer Service: It is imperative that one conducts themselves in a professional manner and displays excellent customer service at all times. Each cashier has the opportunity to meet and greet each customer with a smile.
Education: There are two (2) types of education ongoing at American Metals. The first type is internal. This is the education that management provides to each buyer. This education covers all aspects of the operation (i.e. Safety, Material Identification, scale procedures, hazardous training, legislative issues, etc.) Each buyer should always be asking questions, regardless if you think it is important or not. There is no silly question. The second type of education is the information that we share with our customers. Educating our customers means that we explain about a safety issue, the difference between different types of metals, legal and procedural issues. It is important to recognize that if asked a question and one does not know the answer, then you need to contact management to get the answer.
